STUART, Frederick (1837-1913). After Alexander Hesler (1823-1895). J.O. Wright & Co., publisher. Abraham Lincoln limited edition print.

5 x 7 in. image (sheet 12 x 17 in.), on wove paper. Minor loss to lower left corner, light toning to sheet edges, unframed.

Signed ("FT. Stuart") in plate, pencil signed lower right ("Frederick Stuart"). Penciled notation at lower left, "#70 of 75 Artist's Proofs / J.O. Wright & Co." 

Etching of a beardless Abraham Lincoln after a photograph by Alexander Hesler taken on 28 Feb. 1857, just prior to Lincoln's Senate nomination in Chicago.
