[1880 ELECTION - POLITICAL CARTOONS]. A group of Puck chromolithographs related to the politics and presidential campaigns in 1880.
Great Political Excitement in Indiana. The Whole State on the Stump. New York: Mayer, Merkle & Ottmann, 1880. 13 x 9 1/2 in. chromolithograph depicting Frederick Douglass campaigning for Garfield, Thomas Hendricks, Voorhees, Logan, and Weaver, with more figures in the background giving speeches.
[With:] For President 1880. Our Choice. Sound Currency. 6 7/8 x 9 5/8 in. ink drawing on paper. Features a portrait of James G. Blaine. Critical of the electoral college, a hand-written caption reads "Shall 60,000 votes in the South be equal to 132000 votes in the North" next to uneven scales. A surly figure in the background is captioned "This is the poor fellow who is bulldozed in N.Y."
