[WESTERN AMERICANA]. MORROW, Stanley J., photographer. CDV of Luther "Yellowstone" Kelly. Yankton, Dakota Territory.
2 x 3 5/8 in. CDV on cardstock mount (toning, some fading, creasing and bits of loss to top portion of print, occasional surface abrasions; mount trimmed, clipped corners). Verso with S.J. Morrow's Yankton, D.T. ink stamp and period inked notation, "Louis Kelley [sic] / Hunter & Trapper of the Yellowstone."
Morrow took a series of staged images of the famed frontier scout, Luther "Yellowstone" Kelly (1849-1928), which were issued as stereoviews. Here, Kelly wears a jacket with fringe and embroidery. RARE: No other copies of this image could be located.
