[COLORADO]. A group of 3 early photographs of Black Hawk and Central City, Colorado, by Chamberlain, Weitfle, and Wakely, comprising:
CHAMBERLAIN, William G., photographer. Stereoview of Black Hawk, Colorado. Ca. 1861-1889. 6 1/4 x 3 1/2 in. stereoview on cardstock mount. Mount recto bears series imprint, "Chamberlain's Colorado Scenery." Verso bears affixed paper label with view number "299" inscribed in pencil and subject information printed below. "Central, is the centre of the chief gold mining district, 40 miles west of Denver. Black Hawk, Central and Nevada, form a continuous settlement over three miles in length. These places were the first mining settlements in Colorado, and, together with the very wild scenery through the famous Clear Creek Canon, presents unusual attractions."

Several stores, including one with a sign reading "Black Hawk Cracker Works, line the square.
