Obverse with caption printed beneath image, and copyright statement printed along bottom edge. Inscribed date "9-19-06" and signed name at top and bottom. Reverse addressed to a recipient in New Madrid, MO, with faintly visible cancel stamp over Benjamin Franklin postage stamp affixed in upper right corner.

Newspapers including the Canon City Times (January 25, 1900) reported that escaped convict, Thomas Reynolds, was lynched by a mob for killing a prison guard.
