Lot Description
[WESTERN AMERICANA]. A group of 2 tintypes, featuring gambling women and identified cowboy.

Portrait of James Henry Houser and unidentified man. Ca 1890. 2 3/4 x 4 1/8 in. tintype in decorative paper folder (some surface soiling, wear to perimeter of tintype, corners clipped). Houser is seated. Accompanied by handwritten card from Belvoir Ranch, Cheyenne, Wyoming, in which P. Hoyt is asking Houser for meat.  A modern, handwritten note enclosed states that Houser owned his own ranch.

[With:] 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 in. tintype in paper sleeve showing two men and two women in a studio setting. One woman is holding playing cards, one woman is holding a champagne glass and a pistol, one man is pouring champagne. Backdrop of mountain scene.
