Condition Report

In overall fine and stable condition. Each drawer having a fairly smooth action. Retains a key. Traces of craquelure and discoloration visible in areas. The chest is 18th century, but the Japanned decoration is later, likely of the late 19th with other areas redone in the later 20th Century. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. The hardware is replaced. Old age cracks visible, but most are filled. Areas of loss to the Japanned decoration, mostly to the top. Drawer runners are replaced.
