The book is divided into three sections, the first dealing with the earth, fruit trees, nurseries, grasses, shrubs, mosses, etc.; the second with melons, beets, radishes and other vegetables; and the third, with the preserving and conserving of various fruits. One plate depicts the interior of a busy kitchen. The first edition was published in Paris in 1651.
