Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Philadelphia Fire Zouaves box plate, ca 1867-73.

2 7/8 x 1 3/4 in. die-struck rolled brass oval cartridge box plate featuring letters "P.F.Z." on front and brass wire loops soldered on verso (scratching, darkened/discolored patination throughout). Cataloged as Plate 592 in O'Donnell and Duncan Campbell. This style is thought to date from the 72nd PA regiment's 1867 reorganization.
