Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY].  A group of 13 cased images featuring sitters holding fans, including:

Quarter plate daguerreotype portrait of a group of four subjects including two men and two women. (Some tarnishing to edges, minor spotting and loss to clarity to image, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (general wear throughout). The female subjects hold feathered fans in their laps. -- Quarter plate ambrotype of a young lady sitting at a table holding a fan in her lap. [Pennsylvania]: Keagy, n.d. (Spotting to mat; retains small portions of original seal.) Housed in a Scarce Union case with geometric design [Berg 3-32] (surface soiling, few nicks and chips). -- Sixth plate daguerreoytpe portrait of a young woman wearing embellished jewelry and holding a feathered fan in her lap. (Tarnishing to edges, good clarity to image; retains original seal.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (surface wear throughout). - And 10 others, including one quarter plate daguerreotype and 9 sixth plate daguerreotypes, some housed in full cases, others in half or no cases. -- Together, 13 cased images featuring sitters with fans.
