[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 5 cased images featuring men smoking, comprising: 

Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of two men, each posed with an arm around the other, smoking cigars. (Light spotting, good clarity, discoloration to mat and preserver; retains original seals.) Housed in a separated pressed paper case (fully separated at spine, general wear throughout). -- Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a bearded man wearing a hat and vest, and smoking a cigar. (Tarnishing to edges, spotting throughout, spotting to mat; original seals loose.) Housed in a separated pressed paper case (fully separated at spine, significant surface wear throughout). -- Sixth plate ruby ambrotype portrait of a man smoking a pipe. (darkening to edges, some spotting throughout, through subject retains clarity; unsealed.) Housed in a separated pressed paper case (fully separated at spine, surface wear throughout). -- Sixth plate ambrotype portrait of two men wearing hats and posed with their arms crossed, one smoking a pipe. (Good clarity, minor spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (general wear throughout). -- Sixth plate tintype portrait of two men wearing top hats, one holding a broom and am umbrella, the other smoking a cigar. (Some spotting and loss of focus to parts of image, discoloration to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (heavy wear throughout). -- Together, 5 cased images depicting subjects smoking.
