A Vladimir Makovsky Decorated Art Deco Gold and Diamond, Platinum, Mother of Pearl and Hardstone-Mounted Enameled Cigarette Case
Circa 1930
of rectangular form with rounded corners, the lid and base centered with alternating black enamel and diamond bands, the lid lifting up to a vacant interior, the underside of the lid engraved 'Mary Dear/F.P-August 31, 1942', one side of case decorated with a mother-of-pearl and hardstone inset plaque of a warrior on horseback and signed 'MP' in lower right corner, the reverse side of case with a mother-of-pearl inset plaque of a landscape.
