44pp., 8 1/2 x 11 in. (scattered spotting to paper wrappers, wrapper partially separation near bottom staple, some corner and edge wear to wrappers and interior pages).

Hollywood icon and sex symbol Marilyn Monroe is shown on the front cover of Volume 1, Number 1 of Playboy. Identified as Playboy's first "Sweetheart of the Month," Monroe's "Golden Dreams" nude photo is featured inside the issue. Also included is an article on Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey as well as the short story, "Introducing Sherlock Holmes," by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
