Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Sixth plate daguerreotype of a painter with his brush and bucket.
Sixth plate seated portrait of a painter wearing a straw hat and apron, posed with a paint brush in his hand and a bucket on the table next to him. (Few minor scratches and one ding to plate, spotting to mat and preserver; resealed.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (fading to edges of velvet pad, surface wear).
Subject's apron and shirt appear to have traces of paint on them, and a paint brush handle is visible above the edge of the bucket.
