Lot Description
[LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865)]. Porcelain bas-relief inaugural wall plaque, ca 1861. 

Approx. 6 3/8 in. dia. (sight) porcelain plaque with gilt text to rim reading, "Abraham Lincoln / Born Feb.y 12th - 1809, Inaugurated President, March 4th - 1861." Framed to 12 1/8 x 12 1/8 in. (some very light wear to gilt, not examined out of the frame). Lincoln silhouette portrait in bisque featured at center, surrounded by a field of cobalt. Plaque surmounted by gilt bow.

RARE: We know of only one other example extant, executed in a different color palette with text below silhouette, held in a private collection.
