25 mm gilt brass pendant containing ferrotype portraits of Douglas and Johnson. (Light tarnish, minor surface wear to ferrotypes.) Obverse legend reads "Stephen. A. Douglas. 1860" surrounding a ferrotype portrait of Douglas. Reverse legend reads "Herschel. V. Johnson. 1860" with a ferrotype portrait of the vice-presidential candidate.
[With:] 28 mm brass token (some oxidation). Obverse legend reads "Stephen A. Douglas" surrounding a portrait of the Democratic candidate. Reverse reads at center "The Champion of Popular Sovereignty 1860" with a surrounding legend: "Democratic Candidate for the Presidency."
