[LATE INDIAN WARS]. Little Bighorn Battlefield relics, incl. shells, buckles, and bullets, found by Bob and Donella Johnson in 1981. 

"1. Blummer Ridge, U.S. 45-70 shells, inside primed. (U.S.) on ridge he crossed to last stand hill. -- 2. Saddle stirrup rivets. (U.S.) -- 3. Saddle ring and staple. (U.S.) -- 4. Saddle Screws. (U.S.) --  5. Hardtack box nails. (U.S.) -- 6. Bridle buckel. (U.S.) -- 7. 1873 Winchester 44. (RARE) only 3 guns known in the battle. -- 8. 52 Spencer (Probably Indian) 45-70 bullet. (U.S.) -- 9. 45. Colt, live cartridge and bullet, found on point over-looking river at Water ravine, Sharpshooters (U.S.) -- 10. 1873 Winchester 44-40 (U.S.) -- 11. 44. Henry shells, Long & Short -- 12. 45-70 shell, shot by Indian. -- 13. 45-70, shot in 50-70 by Indian. -- 14. Anvils (Primers) from expanded 45-70 shell shot in 50-70 by Indian. -- 15. Percussian cap. Shot by Indian. -- 16. 50-70 Bullets. (Indian) -- 17. 4 bullet 45-70 carbien ,the longer probably rifle. (U.S.)"

Together, 41 relic pieces. Mounted in shadowbox frame with provenance letter signed by Bob Johnson and Donnie Sue Johnson, as well as manuscript note signed by the landowner, dated 27 August 1981 granting permission to metal detect. Condition typical for excavated items with expected oxidation, soil, and dents.
