8 x 12 3/4 in. partly printed document (old creases with short marginal tears, some brown spotting); framed to 12 1/4 x 15 in. (not examined out of frame).
A certificate issued to James H. Wright acknowledging he was nominated, elected, and appointed to be "a fireman of the Engine No. 6 in the Village of Brooklyn." Witnessed by the President of the Board of the Trustees, J. Sprague, and two others.
