[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 4 premortem and postmortem daguerreotypes of children, including: 

Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a sickly child lying in a bed, her eyes sunken and her visage unhealthy. (Significant tarnishing and spotting to plate; original seals.) Housed in a fully separated case. -- A ninth plate portrait of a likely deceased baby lying on a surface, wearing an oversized gown with hand-tinted details. (Significant tarnishing, clouding, and spotting to plate, with oxidation to mat and preserver; original seals.) Housed in a broken, nearly separated case. -- And 2 others, both sixth plate daguerreotypes, one with extremely soft focus. -- Together, 4 daguerreotype portraits of deceased and dying children.
