FIRST EDITION regimental history of the 372nd Infantry, a segregated African American regiment. The regiment had served under French command during WWI and reconstituted under the National Guard in the Interwar period. The regiment was stationed on the home front during much of WWII, deployed to Hawai'i in 1945 to relieve the 98th Infantry Division which was preparing to invade Japan. The regiment was deactivated on 31 January 1946.
