[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. ANSON, Rufus P., photo. 6 cased images, incl. 3 daguerreotypes of the same girl
3 sixth plate daguerreotypes featuring the same identified young girl, sitting on a floral upholstered chair with red/pink hand tinting, 2 of the portraits being mirror-images of one another making one a likely period copy. New York: Anson, ca 1859. (Tarnishing to edges, light surface scratching and spotting throughout, oxidation to mats and preservers; unsealed.) All housed in separated pressed paper cases (fully separated at spines, significant surface wear). Each with mat and velvet pad marked for Anson. One image with inscribed paper label behind image reading, "Elizabeth Ludlow Jones. August 17th 1859." -- Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a young couple. New York: Anson, n.d. (Tarnishing to edges, some clouding, spotting, and dust specs to image, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a separated pressed paper case (fully separated at spine, surface wear). Mat and velvet pad marked for Anson. -- And 2 others, including a daguerreotype and an ambrotype. -- Together, 6 sixth plate portraits by Anson.
