Sixth plate portrait of a gentleman in profile, wearing a light colored shirt and dark colored necktie. N.p.: Jeffers, n.d. (Tarnishing to edges, heavy spotting and clouding to image, oxidation to preserver; unsealed.) Housed under mat, glass, and preserver only, no case. Mat stamped for Jeffers, likely George A. Jeffers, who began his career in New York and migrated southward, ending up in Georgia by 1859. -- Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a mustached man in profile. Chicago: L.M. Melander & Bro., 1895. (Some clouding and light tarnish throughout, with discoloration to lower right portion and weeping in areas throughout, oxidation to mat; sealed.) Housed in a separated pressed paper case (fully separated at spine, general wear). Paper label on back of image identifies the image to Melander & Bro, with ink inscribed date "Nov. 11th 95." -- And 7 others, including one oversized quarter plate daguerreotype, one quarter plate daguerreotype, 2 sixth plate daguerreotypes, one ninth plate daguerreotype, and 2 ninth plate tintypes. -- Together, 9 portraits of subjects in profile.
