Daguerreotype seated portrait of a young lady posed before a painted backdrop depicting a river and hills. Cincinnati, OH: Ball & Thomas, ca 1858-1860. (Heavy tarnishing to edges, spotting, and dust particles throughout plate, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (heavy surface wear). Mat stamped with Ball & Thomas's 120 W. 4th St., Cincinnati, Ohio address. -- Daguerreotype seated portrait of a middle aged couple posed before a somewhat blurry landscape painted backdrop. N.p.: Broadbent, n.d. (Significant tarnishing to edges, some spotting throughout plate, spotting to mat and preserver, portions of preserver missing; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface wear and loss). Mat stamped "S. Broadbent." -- Ruby ambrotype group portrait of 3 adult subjects, possibly siblings, posed before a painted backdrop featuring a building with domes and spires. (Darkening to image, with deterioration and spotting throughout; unsealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (heavy wear throughout). -- And 7 others, including 6 daguerreotypes and one ambrotype. -- Together, 10 sixth plate portraits featuring painted backdrops.
