ROBUCHON, Jules (1840-1922), photographer. Paysages et monuments du Poitou...Iles Vendéennes. Paris: Imprimerie Typographique de la Société des Imprimeries reunies, Motteroz, 1890. 

1 volume, Folio (12 5/8 x 18 in.). 14 heliogravures by DuJardin. (Occasional spotting or marginal dampstains, some leaves detached.) Half calf with marbled boards (significant scuffs, partial spine loss). 

A volume of Robuchon's monumental work on the monuments of Poitou, this volume representing the Islands of the Vendée. Publication of the work began in 1883 and continued for many years. He settled in Poitiers and founded the Syndicat d'initiative des Travels in Poitou [Travels in Poitou Tourist Office] in 1905.

[With:] WYKEHAM MARTIN, Charles. The History and Description of Leeds Castle, Kent. Westminster: Nichols and Sons, 1869. Including 8 mounted albumen prints photographed by James Cruttenden, plus a hand-tinted "Plan of Leeds Castle Kent." Publisher's red cloth gilt, folio (heavy wear, cover completely detached at spine, cloth missing from near entirety of spine, rubbing to corners).
