[1876 ELECTION]. Portrait of Rutherford B. Hayes with facsimile signature. New York: Mora, n.d. 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (some toning, crisp image, light wear to mount). -- Portrait of Democratic candidate Samuel J. Tilden. New York: Mora, n.d. 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (toned, scattered spotting, light wear to mount). -- Cabinet card of Democratic vice presidential nominee Thomas A. Hendricks. -- Cabinet card of First Lady Lucy Webb Hayes. -- Additional cabinet card of Rutherford B. Hayes. -- 12 additional campaign and election items of ephemera, including 4 ballots, including an illustrated Republican example with a jugate portrait of Hayes and Wheeler. -- Together, 17 items related to the highly contentious 1876 election between Hayes and Tilden, conditon generally very fine. 

[GREENBACK PARTY]. National Platform. Adopted at the convention of the National Party [of the Independent Greenback Party]. Toledo, OH: N.p., 22 February 1878. 10 1/8 x 5 1/2 in. broadside. The Greenback Party's name referred to non-gold-backed paper money, issued following the Civil War. They opposed deflationary lowering of prices and favored a return to a bullion-based monetary system which they believed would better foster business.  [With:] A membership card to the American Protective Tariff League, issued to Hon. M. A. Haynes, 21 December 1886. -- Together, 2 items.

[BLAINE, James G.]. 1884 Republican National Convention Guests Ticket. Chicago, June 3, 1884. 2-5/8 x 8 in. With coupons intact for 7th - 12th Sessions. This convention nominated James G. Blaine as the Presidential candidate and John A. Logan as the Vice Presidential candidate.  The Republicans lost to Cleveland and Hendricks by only about one-half percent of the popular vote.

[HARRISON, Benjamin (1833-1901)]. "Log Cabin Raising!" handbill on light blue paper, 5 7/8 x 7 5/8 in. (light soil, creasing at top right corner). Encouraging recipients to "Bring your axes, saws, wives, and dinner, and let us have a good social time as was wont in the days of "Old Tip." -- "Republican Torchlight Parade in Philadelphia / Saturday, Nov. 17, 1888" handbill on pink paper, 5 1/8 x 10 5/8 in. (light soil, approx. 2 1/2 in. tear near top center, adhesive on verso). -- "Minute Book" of the Anderson Republican Club, 1888, 7 3/4 x 12 1/2 in. with marbled boards, approx. 25pp utilized (front and back boards completely separated from spine, wear). -- "Songs for the Presidential Campaign of 1888," 4pp, 8 1/4 x 11 1/2 in. (toning, creases, chipping at edges). -- "Republican Campaign Songs for 1888." R.M. Collins, Publisher, 21 Park Row, New York. 1888. 9 1/4 x 11 3/4 in. (staple bound with back cover fully separated, light soil). -- And 7 additional items. Together, 12 items related to the 1888 presidential campaign of Benjamin Harrison and Republican clubs, condition generally very fine. 

[ANTI-MONOPOLY PARTY] Anti-Monopoly League Membership Roll Declarations. N.p.: n.d., ca 1928-1930. 14 x 8 1/2 in. broadside (creased with a few repairs, small tear with loss lower blank margin). "The Anti-Monopoly League earnestly call attention to the relations of corporate and public rights as the most important question before the American people at this time... Corporate life, practically immortal in its duration, wielding these great powers, has assumed an importance never before known or contemplated... " The National Anti-Monopoly League advocated for the rights of the many against the privileges of the few, and believed that the state should control corporations.
