[EPHEMERA]. A massive group of over 1400 printed postcards.

Enstensive collection of more than 1400 printed postcards covering a wide array of topics, featuring travel scenes, landscapes, cities, towns, fairs, exhibitions, concerts, parades, occupational views, various personalities including musicians, actors, athletes, and more. Most US states are represented in the collection, which contains postcards dating from the late 19th-20th century. 

Highlights include: More than 600 California postcards, including views of cities, towns, exhibitions, landscapes, landmarks, businesses, residences, and personalities. -- More than 35 postcards involving various forms of mining and oil drilling. -- More than 100 postcards from Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri, including a number of scenes fromt the late 19th-early 20th century world's fairs and exhibitions. -- More than 25 postcards featuring ships and steamers. -- More than 150 international postcards. -- More than 110 postcards with Native American subjects, incl. several well-known chiefs such as Sitting Bull and Rain-in-the-Face, as well as scenes and subjects from Alaska. -- Set of 16 postcards featuring Charles Russell's paintings of Native American subjects, with original envelope in which they were issued. -- Approx. 7 postcards featuring African American subjects. -- 4 postcards featuring flags woven in silk, of which 3 are titled "Hands Across the Sea." -- Postcard of champion boxer, Joe Louis. -- Leather postcard from Los Angeles, CA. -- Metal postcard featuring the SS Curacao in Guaymas Harbor. -- Postcard featuring a courier with an applied leather pouch inscribed, "Vancouver." -- Postcard with heart-shaped charms attached, entitled "El Secret dels Cors." 

Together, more than 1400 printed postcards. Condition generally good, including a combination of used and unused postcards. Several with corner and edge wear, including creasing, short tears, and minor loss.
