Lot Description
Two Victorian Capes and Jackets, 1890-1900

These three items are placed into a group due to each having condition issues. 

THE FIRST
Cream silk satin flounced cape with the overlay of blue silk velvet trimmed with black Mongolian lamb. The lining features a self-fabric pocket.

THE SECOND
Black ribbed silk cape trimmed with net, lace, and jet beads. The neckline is embellished with pleated silk chiffon and the inside is lined with purple silk.

THE THIRD 
Black silk velvet jacket with a heavily boned bodice, and a front panel that is covered in black net and jet beading, which continues around the hem. The jacket is underlined with brown cotton. The sleeves are large leg-o-mutton style.

Condition Report

Condition:

THE FIRST 
The overall conditon is poor with several splits in the fabric. 

THE SECOND
The overall condition is poor with splits in the lining and fading in the lace overlay due to the jet beads. 

THE THIRD 
The overall stucture is stable with a chalking of the jet beads throughout.
