Lot Description
Bonnie Cashin Coat, Top and Skirt, Top and Pants, Two Sketches, Pattern, 1960-70s


THE FIRST 
This group of items contains a leather coat, pattern for the coat, and a copy of a sketch of the coat. 

The copy of the sketch of the coat features a signature of the designer "Bonnie Cashin", the date "Mar 68", and the message "Two parts of color but all leather - and drawstringed" (The coat in this lot is one color, not two as is listed in the sketch). 
The copy of the sketch also contains handwritten notes in pencil that are related to fabric and style names. 

The paper pattern contains twenty-two pieces. 

The olive Angora leather coat is cut with a stand collar, long sleeves, pockets sewn into each side seam, and olive leather ties that are strung through gold-tone metal grommets in the neckline and waist and forms the ties at the center front. The coat is lined with green plush.

THE SECOND 
This skirt suit is made of a green, blue, and white fancy weave that is trimmed with white leather. The top is cut with a wide scoop neckline, short sleeves that are cut with the front and back pattern pieces. There are two pockets on the front that are edged with white leather and the top closes down the center front with gold-tone buttons. The skirt is fitted into the wiastband, lined with white fabric, and closes down the side with a zip.

THE THIRD 
This third group comes with a top and pants and a copy of a sketch.

The copy of the sketch features a similar top to the one in this lot and it is paired with a skirt vs the pair of pants that are in this lot. The sketch features the designers signature "Bonnie Cashin", the date "Oct 75", and the message "early 'covered wagon' prints (?) for neat little shirts to wear over natural suede pants and skirts". This copy of the sketch also features hand-written notes in pencil. 

Light green suede top and pants. The top is cut with a fold down curved collar, long sleeves gathered into a cuff that closes with a snap, tucks into the shoulder for fit, and a center front snap closure. There are pockets over each hip that are sewn into the side seams. The pants are fitted into a wide waistband that closes at the side with a zip and hooks and eyes.

Condition Report
Condition: 

THE FIRST 
The overall condition is good with some tarnish in the gold-tone metal grommets around the neck and waist. The leather ties at the neckline and waist show wear from use. The paper pattern and the sketch are in good condition. 

THE SECOND 
The overall condition of both items is fair with overall wear visible on the surface and the white leather trim shows signs of wear. Under each arm, the fabric has felted some from wear. 

THE THIRD 
The overall condition of both items is good with minor discoloration on the shoulders and the pants at the hips near the fold lines. The copy of the sketch is in good condition.
