Original blind-stamped olive cloth, spine gilt-lettered (lacking small portions of spine ends, wear to joints, spine and extremities fading, some rubbing). Provenance: Putnam & Malone (booksellers' stamp, Mobile, AL, 29 May 1866).
FIRST EDITION of Cumming's work, "by far the fullest and most informative of narratives of the Confederate women who served as nurses" (In Tall Cotton 31). Howes C-949.
