[CIVIL WAR]. Quarter plate tintype of a Federal cavalry soldier on horseback.
Quarter plate outdoor portrait of a Union cavalryman on horseback in a field with shredded trees and stumps visible in the background. (Some rusting, scratching, and specks of paint to image, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (surface wear, cracks, fading to velvet pad). The soldier's sheathed saber hangs at his side. The horse wears full military gear including a Model 1859 McClellan saddle with saddle bags.
