[CIVIL WAR]. MOLLUS badge and button identified to Henry M. Rice. Ex Julian Converse Collection.
Medal of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, 3 in. ln. (medal in very fine condition, ribbon with some light soiling). Accompanied by typed card indicating that the medal was issued to Henry Mower Rice (1816-1894), a fur trader and politician prominent in the statehood of Minnesota. Rice was a Representative of the Territory of Minnesota from 1853-1855 and also served in the US Senate from 1858-1863.
