"During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the works of Vegetius, Frontinus, Modestus, and Aelian were usually printed together" (Cockle 3). A compilation of Classical writings on military subjects, comprising works by Vegetius, Cato, Frontinus, Aelinanus, Polybius, Hyginus, Modestus, Ruffus, and others.
