FIRST EDITION of Melzo's treatise on the conduct and service of cavalry. Melzo served as Lieutenant-General of the Spanish Cavalry in the Low Countries at the truce of 1609. His work was reprinted in Venice in 1626 and 1641, and was translated into Spanish, French, German, and English for various editions. Cockle 723.
