Lot Description
LINDBERGH, Charles (1902-1974) and LINDBERGH, Anne Morrow (1906-2001). Photograph signed ("Charles Lindbergh") and ("Anne Lindbergh").
4 1/2 x 6 1/2 in. silver gelatin photograph, 6 x 8 in. including margins, matted and framed with descriptive plaque indicating that the photograph was taken in June 1929, 13 1/4 x 18 1/2 in. overall (photograph in very good condition, not examined outside frame). An outdoor portrait of Charles Lindbergh and his wife Anne Morrow Lindbergh, inscribed in lower margin to Clarence M. Young, an attorney, aviator, and the first US Director of Civil Aeronautics. He helped Charles Lindbergh obtain his federal license for N-X-211, "The Spirit of St. Louis," just prior to the First Trans-Atlantic Flight on 20-21 May 1927.
