Early 19th century short sword, 29 in. unmarked blade, mottled gray in appearance, 35 in. overall. Iron hilt with a grip partially wrapped in wire (wear consistent with age and use). Faint inscription on hilt, which appears to read, "Lt. Col. F. May."
