Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Civil War-era medical items, including small knife or scalpel, possibly POW art.
Bone saw with period wood handle, approx. 14 3/4 x 3 3/4 in. -- Crudely re-hilted small knife or scalpel, with bone handle, approx. 5 1/2 x 3/4 in. Modern typed identification paper accompanying the item indicates that it is a "Confederate medical scapel [sic]" found near Guiney Station, Virginia. Item may also represent a form of POW art.
