Lot Description
[EUROPE]. Document signed ("Louis"), by King Louis XIII of France (1601-1643).
9 January 1625. 3pp in French, approx. 18 x 11 1/4 in., center page bearing signature "Louis," with separate pages above and below, all tied together at left side, heavy wax seal suspended. Document indicates that Louis has removed Jean de la Borde, the personal guard of the Queen Mother, and is sending him to the south of France.
Louis XIII became the King of France in 1610 upon the assassination of his father, with his mother Marie de' Medici acting as regent. The young king took power in 1617, exiling his mother and executing her followers.
