CHOATE, John N. (1848-1902), photographer. 2 cabinet cards of students at Carlisle School.
Studio portrait of a pair of Menomonee students, Joseph Wisecoby and Moses Nonway. Both wear their school uniforms and hold their hats in their hands, and one rests his hand on the shoulder of the other. Ca 1880. (Significant toning around subjects, minor spotting; mount with minor toning and edge/corner wear.) Verso with Choate's printed list of captions for various images of students and chiefs at Carlisle. -- Studio portrait of 3 young Osage students, including a pair of boys and a girl. They all wear their school uniforms. (Minor toning to edges; mount with some soiling and edge/corner wear.) Verso with Choate's imprint and a printed caption crossed out in ink and corrected to "133 Little Osages." -- Together, 2 cabinet card portraits of Carlisle students.
