This lot is located in Cincinnati.
This chest is related to a small group of blanket boxes produced near "The Forks" (now Coburn) in Centre County, Pennsylvania, circa 1805-1820. All incorporate a central flowering plant with serrated stems and leaves, flanked by a pair of vases or columns.
A near identical example, likely decorated by the same hand, showing similar yellow columns and serrated stems and leaves, was sold at Christie's, New York, The Collection of Peter and Barbara Goodman, January 20, 2022, Sale 20689, Lot 195.
