Thomas Cheever (1776-1854) of Danvers, Massachusetts served as a private in the United States Army, continuing the legacy of his father, Sergeant Aaron Cheever (1740-1803). The elder Cheever served the Danvers company of minutemen, which was organized by Captain Israel Hutchinson in April 1775, and notably participated in the Battle of Menotomy.
