Contemporary Cased Pair of Flintlock Pistols in the Style of Leopold Becher by John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)
.60 caliber. 10" two stage octagonal to round brass barrel. SN: NSN. Brass finish to barrel and lock. Walnut stock has carved rococo scroll overall and inlaid wire to both grip and forearm. Flintlock pistol with silver blade front sight. Stock features cast brass filigree fittings overall, as well as cast brass triggerguard and backstrap with hunter motifs. Pistols are marked 1 and 2. Items include wood ramrods with brass tips. Pistols are cased in a handmade walnut box with burgundy velvet interior, and an interior label. Box features a powderflask, a carved elk horn piece, and some cloth patches. Pistols are made in the style of Bohemian gunmaker Leopold Becher who was active from about 1725-1750 according to Stockel.
