Lot Description
** Finnish Mosin-Nagant Model 1891
World War I, World War II
7.62x54mmR. 28.7" barrel length. SN: 63937. Blued metal finish with polished bolt set in a full length Birchwood stock with straight wrist and finger grooves. Bolt action repeating rifle fed by an internal box magazine mounting dovetailed front blade and adjustable rear ladders sights. Rifle features an octagonal receiver, and shows the struck range markings on the rear sight typical of Finnish modified Model 1891 rifles. Top of the barrel displays standard Imperial Russian markings indicating it was manufactured at Tula followed by an 1896 date marking. Left stock displays a boxed SA marking indicating it was rebuilt for Finnish service. Original serial number on the barrel shank has been struck with the rifle renumbered to the current serial listed above. Bolt serial number matches the barrel while the remaining observable numbers do not match, which is typical of Finnish Mosins. Item comes with the cleaning rod and mounts a leather Finnish pattern sling suspended from loops fed through the sling channels in the forend and butt. Rifling has been counterbored at the muzzle for approximately the first half inch. Importer marking on the left barrel reads CAI ST. A. VT/M91 7.62 RUSSIA.
