Lot Description
FOER, Jonathan Safran. We are the Weather Saving the Planet Begins at Breakfast. 2019. FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE. With a manuscript note laid in: “Secretary Madeleine Albright, From Barbra Streisand.”
Singer, Songwriter, and environmental activist Streisand and Albright were close friends since they met in 1993 while Albright was serving as Ambassador to the United Nations. The friends were quick to share kind words about the other, with Albright complimenting Streisand: “She’s smart and fun to talk with… she’s my activist friend who can turn around and give an incredible concert” (Heil). Streisand remembers Albright fondly: “The world needs more people like Madeleine, whose instinct was to connect with others and build on what we share” (New York Times, 25 March 2022). Emily Heil, 7 February 2019.
In original binding with dust jacket (condition generally fine).
Provenance for the lot: Secretary Madeleine K. Albright, with bookplate.
