[CIVIL WAR]. Hand-colored albumen photograph of a Zouave.

7 1/8 x 5 1/8 in. (sight) hand-colored albumen photograph, matted and framed, 11 x 9 in overall (some light toning and fading to print, unexamined outside frame; some flaking to mat). Studio portrait of a young man dressed in a Zouave uniform similar to that worn by the 5th New York Infantry, consisting of a distinctive blue jacket and vest, red sash, and baggy trousers complete with a fez with gold tassel.
