Lot Description
1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Rebuilt in .38 Special

.38 Special. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 59498. (Mfg. Ca 1880) Blued metal refinish to all parts with bone grips and replaced barrel and cylinder. Single-action loading gate revolver with six-shot cylinder mounting the black powder frame with smokeless powder rifling and a kidney shaped ejector rod head. The left frame has been struck with the three-patents in three-line marking with the left trigger struck 45 CAL. The barrel markings include COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 38 SPECIAL on the left barrel and COLT'S MFG. CO. HARTFRORD, CT. U.S.A. to the top. The serial numbers on front gripstrap and frame match, while the rear gripstrap does not. The loading gate features the assembly number 314. Butt is additionally marked 2/SC/54.

Condition Report

Very Good as Refinished. Bore is Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. The metal refinish displays few scattered light scratches, a turn ring on the cylinder and a pattern of pinpoint patina forming through the barrel finish overall. Some light pitting in the loading gate recess has been filled in with the reblue. The grips have few light handling scratches. The action times and indexes correctly.
