Lot Description
Refinished 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver

.44-40. 4.75" barrel length. SN: 124812. (Mfg. Ca 1887). Nickel refinish overall with Rampant Colt logo hard rubber {Eagle} grips. Single-action loading gate revolver with spring loaded ejector rod. Revolver mounts the black powder pattern frame with a screw retained cylinder pin, and features Colt's black powder rifling. The barrel address reads in two lines COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. Left frame is marked with the three-patent in three-lines marking while the left triggerguard displays the caliber mark 44 CAL. The serial numbers match on the gripstraps and frame, and the assembly number 88 has been struck into the loading gate.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is Frosty with some light pitting throughout and a dull brown patina throughout. The nickel finish remains on the flanks of the hammer and at the edges of the frame and gripstraps. Finish elsewhere has been buffed and cleaned with some buffing abrasions overall. The forward frame and the cylinder display patterns of light pitting. Some red buffing compound remains in the recesses of the frame. Grips are worn with some smooth spots on the right panel and both having lost the fine details of the logos. Action displays good timing with a weak spring and some roughness to the action.
