Lot Description
Refinished 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver

.45 LC. 4.75" barrel length. SN: 125057. (Mfg. Ca 1888) Blued metal finish overall and mounting checkered hardrubber {Rampant Colt} logo grips with {American Eagle} motifs to the butt. Single action loading gate revolver with spring loaded ejector rod and six-shot cylinder. The left frame shows the three patents in three lines marking with a 45 CAL mark on the left trigger. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. Features include a black powder frame with black powder rifling, and a kidney shaped ejector rod head. The front sight has been replaced after the item was refinished. Serial numbers match on the frame and gripstraps with the loading gate showing assembly number 223. The initial S appears on the cylinder while G is struck into the hammer recess.

Condition Report

Very Good as Refinished. Bore is Frosty with weak rifling and some pinpoint pitting. The metal refinish is strong but presents some scattered light scratches, muzzle wear, and some mars to the top of the barrel from the front sight installation process. The cylinder shows some pinpoint pitting that has been filled in with reblue, along with some light scratches. Finish is freckling brown along the backstrap. Grips show handling wear with some loss of fine details and shallowness to checkering. Action times and indexes correctly.
