** Walther P.38 ac 45 Code Pistol
World War II

9mm Para. 4.9" barrel length. SN: 3156b. Blued metal finish with rough late war machined surfaces and mounting brown Bakelite grips. DA/SA short recoil operated autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. The left slide displays ac 45 code marking indicating the pistol was manufactured by Carl Walther in 1945. The serial numbers match on all principal parts. Item shows the {Eagle/359} Waffenampt marking to the right slide, left frame, and the right side of the locking block. The {WWII German Eagle} stamp appears on the slide beside the Waffenampt mark, on the left barrel near the breech, and on the left locking block. Further marks include fnh stamp to the underside of the barrel, WaA76 Waffenampt mark on the left barrel. The grip panels show the mold markings P/1528/3 to the right panel and P/1529/3 to the left. Condition Report

Very Good. Bore is Very Bright with sharp rifling throughout. The finish on the slide shows edgewear and flecking scattered over the handling surfaces in addition to a gray patina with brown mottling forming over the rear sight insert. The barrel shows some light cycling wear with some muzzle wear and abrasions over the upper surface. Spots of brown patina have formed in places along the front gripstrap, and the forward frame finish is worn down. The locking block shows a pattern of brown patina with some oxidation. Grips have some light scratches. The magazine shows insertion wear and mars with a brown patina forming.
