Bolt action military rifle with side loading fixed internal magazine. Receiver is marked in a single line: MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 304909. A fine and crisp script JSA/1899 cartouche, the mark of arsenal sub-inspector Jospeh S Adams, is present on the stock opposite the magazine and crisp "Circle-P" is present behind the triggerguard. Rifle is equipped with the upgraded 1901 long range ladder rear sight, a blade front sight on a tall base, two sling swivels and a stacking swivel. Butt trap contains a set of cleaning rods. A leather military pattern sling is included.
