Lot Description
** U.A.R. Era Rasheed Carbine
7.62x39mm. 20.5" barrel length. SN: 2532. Blued metal finish with semi-pistol grip stock with finger grooves and triple vented upper handguard. Gas-impingement operated semi-automatic rifle fed by a semi-detachable ten-shot box magazine primarily charged with stripper clips. The rifle mounts an adjustable tangent rear aperture sight graduated from 100 to 1000 meters with a battle setting, and a fully hooded front post. A folding 12 inch blade bayonet is permanently affixed to the barrel. Sling loops are mounted on the left handguard and stock, with the rifle currently mounting an unmarked leather sling. Left receiver shows both its original manufacturer markings from Egypt, along with the importer markings and importer assigned serial number. Original "Hindi Numerals" remain visible on the left receiver. Egypt manufactured approximately 8,000 Rasheed Carbines based upon the operating system of the earlier Hakim Rifles, themselves a licensed copy of the Swedish AG-42 Ljungman rifle.
